Excellent for the money

There's a lot to like about this knife. For the money AEB-L is a great steel for this kind of knife. Tough and stainless. Easy to sharpen and takes a great edge. I'd have paid more to get it in 3V or CruWear, maybe in the future. The micarta is a prefect choice for the handle material tough, grippy, and handsome. Another advantage of micarta is that it's easy to reshape without hurting the looks. Pretty comfortable handle shape out of the factory. But after a bit of work rounding off the edges with a set of diamond files it melts into my hand. Had to cut in a sharpening choil both to give a little relief between the sharpened edge and the finger choil and to give the sharpened edge a little separation from the plunge grind. Sheath is good. Positive and adjustable retention, good thumb ramp, and a drain hole. Not sure on the belt attachment, I think a knife this big wants a dangler. But that's personal preference the supplied belt attachment works. Overall great value for the money and aside from wishing for a higher end steel choice everything that "needs fixing" can easily be done by the end user. Highly recommended.
